Top 50 Electronic Music Songs of 2011

This year was one heck of a year for the EDM industry. Mainstream fans were exposed to new, hotshot artists like Skrillex, and the subject of dubstep was a constant question among old and new alike. 2011 also marked the year I fell in love with EDM. I've always been akin to it, I've had my share of enjoyment listening to Daft Punk, Justice, or a handful of other, mainstream artists but never had been exposed to so many. To celebrate a year of great music, I've decided to compile a list of my fifty favorite EDM tracks from the year. While this list is by no means complete, I hope to either share with you the goodness of a particular sound or expose you to new ones. In the same way, you could share your top songs in the comments section below. Either way, thanks for reading.

02. Zomboy - Organ Donor

Number One from 2011

Wolfgang Gartner's "Welcome Back" is actually a bonus track on his album "Weekend in America." When I first heard I was instantly hooked; it's light enough for the dance floor, repetitive enough to be catchy, and increasingly addictive. Whenever I found myself listening to this I couldn't help but play it several times in a row. While Zomboy's "Organ Donor" and Skrillex's "First of the Year" are masterpieces in their own right, "Welcome Back" screams instant hit from the first sip from the very last drop.

  1. Really Wolfgang Gartner as your number 1? The songs decent but I think you've overhyped it. Beats a skillex track though

  2. I know, right? I am alone on this thought, and that's okay by me-- but there's just something about this Gartner track that really gets me moving.
